TOM HECK

Versatile guitarist, bassist, sideman musician and singer-songwriter Tom Heck was born in Luxembourg in 1992. At the age of 13 he picked up the electric guitar and discovered the blues for the first time. Having played blues gigs since the age of 13, he slowly got into Jazz and first started studying jazz music at the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg then at the Conservatoire Royale de Bruxelles.

Over the next couple of years Tom played all kinds of music styles he could pick up and had his own blues project which evolved into a fusion band called Elastophobics. In 2014 he started also picking up the electric bass and he became a sideman musician for many artists, learning the craft of playing live music.

While still studying in Brussels, Tom had the chance to meet and play music with some of his icons such as Billy Cobham, Philip Catherine, Paul Gilbert and Robben Ford. For Tom this was a dream coming true since one of the first cd’s he got whe he started playing the blues was the Talk To Your Daughter album by Robben Ford and the famous Spectrum album by Billy Cobham. Over the last few years Tom made a name for himself as a reliable sideman for all kinds of projects and bands.

Playing amongst other with and for: The Grund Club Songwriters, Luxembourg Jazz Orchestra, The Velvet, Ravensong, Claudia Losito, Kid Colling, Lata Gouveia, Clutterd Clarity, HACHOO and many others. Tom is currently working on a solo project, coming back to his roots which is the blues and got also into songwriting.

Tom’s original music is a mix of styles which consists of Songwriting, Blues, Rock, Funk, Jazz and some electronic influences. “Music can be a very personal and at the same time a collective experience, it connects us to other realms, we can’t touch, smell, taste nor see it. But we feel it! This is magic to me“. Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you.
